Our team used six months to work in the communities educating the communities to participate in their own development by voting their representatives into the Assembly. It is our view that if there was any election that the communities could directly participate and help drive development in the communities, it was the Assembly elections. After the one on one interactions morning and evenings, we rented ISD Radio Vans to further invite the communities for hall meetings in our pilot district- Ablekuma Central Municipality. Five of the seven Electoral Areas in the municipality: The Nmenmeete-Laterbiokorshie- MataheKo-Manbrouk and the Abossey Okai Electoral Areas.
The purpose to review together with the Assembly the success and challenges of the existing 2018 to 2021 MTDP development plan that expires in December and for The community to have opportunity to share their grievances and challenges . It’s also to make inputs into the plan formulation of next MTDP plan for the 2022 to 2025 development agenda to ensuring that the development plan contains the people’s felt needs and aspirations.
